My favorite Disney movie is Mulan, so I guess I'll talk about that one.
In the perspective of Shang? The main male character.
Shang, the son of the general... Had to train peasants who had no fighting experiences... who were weak and dumb... He had a burden placed on him as he had to surpass his father and create a decent army to come to his fathers aid. His patience withered till Ping(Mulan in disguise) showed true strength. His heart started to warm up as he saw his comrades work their hardest to improve, and by finishing his training he was now able to show his father his accomplishments. When they made it to their campsite, and discovering his father was dead I can imagine his heart felt like crying-- but being the captain in charge of his soldiers, he had to keep strong and push through without any time to mourn. He probably battled with himself internally whether to keep moving on or surrender-- and since he chose to move on, he had the burden of the fact that most his soldiers would probably perish. Meeting the enemy, his heart probably sunk at seeing the sheer number of his nemesis's army and when Mulan blasted down the mountains snow he was probably relieved... Even before finding out that Mulan was a girl, he probably had feelings for her~ =u=
Ah, but when he found out she was a girl he probably felt betrayed and fearful for her life-- so sparing it for a dept made sure that she would not die. When he had to leave her he probably felt really angry and sad at the thought of leaving the one he liked, but he couldn't risk having her die.
uuuuuu, um-- and when Mulan saved the emperor and was accepted for being a woman, Shang knew that he had to make her his bride so he asked her on a date and they lived happily ever after.
I love that movie! Me and my sister used to always quote this line Mushu said. "Let's go kick some Hunny Buns!" xD
